Dr. Drew was born and raised in sunny San Diego. While growing up, he enjoyed playing soccer, baseball, football, wrestling and catching waves at the local beaches. After attending Scripps Ranch High School he decided to stay local and completed his general education at Mesa and Miramar Community College. Drew is interest in obtaining an understanding of the mechanics behind the biological sciences and the draw of the excellent pre-dental program, led by Dr. Silverstein, brought him to UCSD (Thurgood Marshall). For his first round of postgraduate education to obtain his dental degree, Dr. Drew traveled cross country for a new adventure in the “City of Brotherly Love”, Philadelphia, PA, at Temple University. After four amazing years, he returned to his home state of California, and earned his orthodontic certificate and master’s degree in oral and craniofacial sciences from his dream school, UCSF.

  • 2013 - Valedictorian at Temple University School of Dentistry.
  • 2013 - Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, Kappa Kappa Chapter.
  • 2012 - Kramer Award (Omicron Kappa Upsilon) - Recognition for an outstanding rising junior dental student.
  • 2012 - Research Day Award Winner (Temple University School of Dentistry).
  • 2013 - The Mrs. Yeghsa Hagopian Award - (for the student who achieved the highest scholastic average in oral and maxillofacial radiology)
  • 2013 - Student Achievement Award in Endodontics
  • 2013 - The Philadelphia County Dental Society Student Award - Recognition of outstanding academic and clinical achievement.
  • 2013-Dr. Reuben Matzkin Award - Student who obtained the highest academic average over four years
  • 2009-Honor’s Program Academic Scholarship (Temple University School of Dentistry)

Personal life

Dr. Drew in his free time enjoys spending time with family and friends (including 2 persian cats and 3 dogs), working on shaving some strokes off his 30+ handicap in golf, traveling and experiencing new cultures, hiking (any suggestions let him know), snowboarding, playing old pros softball with his brother and high school buddies, weightlifting, spending time at the beach, deep sea fishing, and many more adventures!
